Label TextAn archer’s wrist guard was functional as well as decorative. Large pieces of turquoise, another Diné jewelry specialty, could be easily mounted on bracelets, wrist guards and necklaces and conveyed the wealth and standing of the owner. Turquoise jewelry also attracted American tourists and it is still a strong presence in Southwest culture and arts.
