Label TextThe Tlingit artist who made this powderhorn oriented the carving upright along the length of the horn, unlike the horizontal orientation seen on American powderhorns. The depth of carving is also much greater than the work on American powderhorns. This powderhorn is one of three known to be carved by a Northwest Coast artist.
