Label TextSelf-taught local artist Susan Jones Kenyon’s ethereal impressionistic works capture moments of contemplative serenity. Kenyon’s paintings evoke a landscape of meaning in way that are both deeply personal and universal. Her canvases point to the human need to find solace, inspiration, refuge and reflection in nature. Here, she depicts Cooperstown as seen from the north side of the lake. The town appears as a series of small, indistinct white brushstrokes nestled between two green hills, practically engulfed by nature, and further dwarfed by the glimmer-glass quality of Otsego Lake as it mirrors the expansive sky above.
