Label TextHan’s work often includes aesthetic references to classical work. This self-portrait draws on the tradition of Renaissance artists including a self-portrait within their work. Here, Han depicts himself at work, hunched in front of an easel and studying his face in the mirror. His self-portraiture style is similar to his still life work in that his palette uses limited and muted colors, there are few objects in the room, and his calm scene creates a mood of timelessness. On View
