Label TextAmerican schoolgirl artists often depicted the theme of Charity offering a bun to a beggar child, an image which was derived from an English print. This unknown artist placed the subject in an interior which includes a painted floor or floorcloth, decorative wallpaper and draperies, and classically inspired furniture.
