Label TextSkillen was the foremost Boston shipcarver of his day. Coming from a large family of shipcarvers in Boston, Massachusetts, Skillen was regularly hired to carve ship figureheads and shop signs, architectural garden sculptures and more ornamental sculpture for furniture.
