Label TextThis delightful double portrait exhibits several characteristics that readily distinguish it as the work of William W. Kennedy and not that of William Matthew Prior nor Sturtevant J. Hamblin. Kennedy's drawing of anatomical features is consistent in all his work. His most recognizable stylistic traits, evident in this likeness, include the children's steeply sloping shoulders; their squared noses that are blocky with prominent flat ridges; their fat, curving fingers; and their small, pursed lips which are separated by a dark reddish-brown line.BibliographyPaul S.
