Label TextFor a young girl, dolls were a diminutive example of the ideal image of womanhood. This Sioux doll wears a traditional hide dress, belt, leggings, and moccasins ornamented with beads and elaborate fringing. The mother or female relative who made this doll embellished it with hair, perhaps taken from her own head.
