Label TextMantas were a fundamental piece of women’s clothing which were worn as a dress or over the shoulder as a blanket. The elaborately red and green embroidered borders are a mirror image of each other and make a vivid contrast to the black wool background. Because Acoma weavers were known for their superior weaving and sewing, their textiles were much sought after.
