Label TextThe artist here focuses attention on the head and facial details; the body is rendered without much elaboration. This figure, with its elongated oval face, delicately carved eyebrows, long nose, and small mouth, and great simplicity of form and purity in engraving style is a superb example of early Old Bering Sea I sculptural development.
