Label TextThis black cotton blouse, with its generous flounce, provides a decorative contrast for the profusion of shiny German silver brooches. Fine clothing communicated complex messages about gender, age, social status, beauty, spiritual and cultural affiliations. Additionally, hairstyle, jewelry, face and body, and piercing were equally important elements of dress.
