Label TextAn Athapaskan woman’s ability to sew well-made and finely-decorated footwear has always been an important skill. These moccasins and slippers are decorated with beadwork in a floral pattern and both are lined with fur. Throughout the 20th century Athapaskan women have used their needlework skills to fill family needs and produce items for sale.
