Label TextWilliams originated the porcupine quill tufting technique on Manitouline Island and this contemporary tour de force of pictorial quill tufting is the largest known to date. Quilled tufting is accomplished by gathering a small clump of quills, pulling it through a hole punched in the birchbark box, tied off, and then trimmed to a pile.
