Label Text Eights painted Albany street scenes as they would have appeared in the early 19th century from memory and from detailed study of maps. Most of his work was created in the 1840s and 1950s. He often painted several versions of the same scene. Another version can be found in the collection of the Albany Institute of History and Art.
