Label TextIn this still life, Han limited his use of paint to three main colors—red, white, and black. The white bowls on the black mounts are backed by a de-saturated, yet dramatic red accent color. His paintings are often rendered with a unique sensibility for color which, when combined with the size of his canvases, make a considerable visual impact. Included in the still life is a small copy of Jacques-Louis David’s (1748-1825) portrait of the famous French chemist, Antoine Lavoisier, and his wife and collaborator, Marie Anne Lavoisier. On View
