Label TextRaymond Han was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and studied at the Honolulu Museum of Art, after which he moved to New York City and studied at the Art Students League of New York. Han is best known for his still lifes of both botanical and human subjects. In this nearly monochromatic still life, Han depicts a vase with white peonies, beakers, and a photograph. Subtle movement is suggested by the fallen leaf on the table and dark green stems provide a visual break from the mostly white paint.
