Label TextCharles and Isabella Edenshaw are among the most highly respected Haida artists of the 19th century. This hat, woven by Isabella and painted by her husband Charles, is notable for its exceptional weaving, graceful shape, and beautiful imagery. Painted and woven hats were highly valued and respected clan heirlooms, but were also made for the collectors’ market.
