Label TextThis quilled panel originally served as a coverlet on the lower part of a cradle. Here five deer or underwater panthers are depicted in striking silhouette marching in procession. Above and below are rows of half-diamond motifs interchanged with thunderbirds. The archaic simplicity of the design reflects early Plains quillwork at its best.
