Label TextAncient Puebloan potters invented, enhanced and perfected ivory- to golden ochre-toned vessels painted with brilliant polychrome clay pigments in abstract designs derived from their natural and supernatural worlds. This superlative vessel illustrates in form and design the pinnacle of the artistic tradition of the pottery type known as Sikyatki Polychrome (A.D. 1375-1625) and likely date between A.D. 1450 to 1500.
