Label TextBrowere’s two compositions in the Fenimore’s collection are excellent examples of how he was able to interject humor into his compositions. The Trombonist, depicts an old man in a blue dressing gown playing a trombone by candlelight. He is being berated by another man in a red dressing gown and nightcap, who points to a clock that shows it is 2:30 in the morning. A woman carrying a baby and a candle, stands behind the second man, all seemingly having been awoken by the musician. On View
