Label TextThis detailed watercolor includes the house, at right, built by John Easton Hawley in Broadalbin, NY in 1812, along with other outbuildings, a mill, and an orchard on the property. The young woman who executed this picture of her family home took great pains to include details such as shutters, draperies, vines, fences, and vehicles, yet chose to cut and paste an oxen at left from a print.
