Label TextNative women in the northeast used an ancient finger-weaving technique similar to braiding to create vibrantly patterned yarn sashes sometimes interwoven with white beads to create a contrast in color and texture. Sashes were worn everyday, but fine ones were reserved for formal dress, an important part of the attire.
