Label TextJames Lombard was a farmer from central Maine who produced weathervanes for his community of Bridgton and as far away as Wells, some sixty miles away. Lombard worked with simple pine planks, which he sawed and chiseled into lively silhouettes of hens and roosters. This weathervane is particularly elaborate in its carving, perhaps because it was made for Lombard’s own barn in Bridgton.
