Label TextThere are a number of different quilt patterns known by this name, all very different. “Puss in the Corner” was a household phrase in the nineteenth century as it was the title of a children’s game in which four players stood in the four corners of a square and attempted to exchange corners while a player in the center tried to take a vacant one. The patchwork pattern of this quilt implies repeated rounds of the game, with the larger diamonds representing children in position, ready to run.On View
